A year or so ago, we hit the streets of Fort Worth and photographed many of the city’s homeless. We picked this project because we found that many of our federal criminal clients appeared to come from the streets. Photographing and conversing with the homeless helped us to better understand the difficulties of life on the street and, in turn, has made us better advocates in the courtroom.

We submitted the photographs to the city of Fort Worth and the city used them as part of its Directions Home, a plan to make homelessness rare, short-term, and non-recurring in Fort Worth within ten years. A note from Fort Worth mayor, Mike Moncrief:

Thank you, Peter, for reaching out to us and sharing your amazing photographs of our neighbors in need. Simply put, your images have helped to change hearts and minds. Take pride in knowing that your art has helped to make a difference. Much remains to be done, but we are clearly on the right track. God bless you, and God bless this important work.

We wish to thank Fort Worth for including us in its efforts to help its homeless population.
